Memories of My Mother

by Frank McKinnon

My mother was an elementary school teacher. She was, also, a pianist. I don’t remember much about her, because she passed away when I was almost 6 years old. She grew up in Osceola, Arkansas. My most prevailing memory of my mother is when I was lying on the floor underneath a Baby Grand piano, practicing writing the alphabet and my name, while she played classical music.
